There&#039;s another book I just read Wilingham&#039;s http://www.amazon.com/Why-Dont-Students-Like-School/dp/0470279303 Why Don&#039;t Students Like School: A Cognitive Scientist Answers Questions About How the Mind Works and What It Means for the Classroom : it gives a nice simple systems model that does similar  things; I hadn&#039;t connected them with Shu Ha Ri, but I think you&#039;ve got it connected correctly
